A very clear and accessible text
I bought this book to become acquainted with the area of decolonisation quickly, and I was very pleasantly surprised. Thorn manages to keep the balance between being interesting and not unreadable but also gets to grips with the issues in a through manner. There are summaries at the end of chapters and sample questions, and he walks the reader through how to analyse sources and views. An excellent find.
Very useful book on decolonisation
This is a very useful book, a very balanced and honest account of decolonisation. Gary thorn was my European Studies tutor; he has got immense knowledge of IR and History.
