Average customer review:Product Description
The introduction of the PIC Microcontroller family of devices is an important development in microelectronic technology. This highly illustrated book uses the PIC 16F84 to introduce students to microelectronic systems. Introduction to Microelectronic Systems assumes no prior knowledge of microprocessors and only a little of electronics. The PIC itself is covered in Part B, step by step, leading to demonstration programs using labels, subroutines, timer and interrupts. Part C then shows how applications may be developed using Windows software and some hardware prototyping methods.

Simple to undertand and good for students
Basically, it's a good book for all students taking a module in embedded systems or something similar. It explains things in simple terms, no technical things. I got to grips with the book straight away. I had to because I was doing an assignment. I had no idea what the PIC16F84 did until I read the book. Sure, you can read the data sheet from microchip.com but I couldn't understand a word of it. Take my word for it, you won't be able to get a better book for this price. If you're a uni student then you know that book usualy cost twice as much. It's a medium size book so it's not that heavy and you can take it to your labs every time. Have fun!!!!!!!
