Very useful from a teacher's perspective
'Domestic Politics 1918-'39' is a very good text suitable for A Level students studying this period. It is a well documented account of the inter war years. It offers essay titles and suggested essay plans, evidence based questions, hints on note taking from the various chapters and overviews of the major developments. The information is put simply in language that students of this age can understand! Also worthy of mention is his book 'Britain; Industrial Relations and the Economy, 1900-'39.' Both texts have proved to be useful teaching tools, although students who expect to achieve higher grades at this level should be encouraged to unertake further additional reading to supplement this book.
