A wealth of insight
Any anthology of prayers is bound to contain material that appeals to one reader more than another, but the benefit of this collection seems to be in displaying the rich heritage of Christian devotion that transcends one culture, denomination or era. There is much to learn from this volume. It is well presented and alongside the 'daily' format has a useful index of subjects. I would recommend this for anyone who wants help in prayer. You may find some entries rather cliched - such as one of the shortest prayers: 'Lord help me to grow wise before I grow old' but in general there is something to learn and use from almost every page. If you are asked to lead public prayer - this will be a great resource!
