Customer Reviews

Come on Amazon4
I have read, and very much enjoyed it, however, for those who have not read it, the synopsis by Amazon is effectively a spoiler. It tells the reason for Akikkuyus madness for crying out loud, and also by mentioning Jupiters spirit they give the game away of the first part. I expect this review will be snubbed by Amazon, as almost 50% of those I write seem to get lost in the system, even though they breach none of the rules stipulated. At the very least I hope Amazon re-write this synopsis to try so as not to spoil the enjoyment of everyone considering buying it.

Not to be missed by Robin Jarvis fans5
This is a brilliant book; it has a great buildup of tension running through it and the ending doesn't disappoint. It's aimed at an age group not much different from other Robin Jarvis books, although the talking mice may appeal to younger readers than usual. The whole book is very atmospheric and the characters are very real - that makes it fun even to an age group who think they shouldn't be reading about mice...

A thrilling read- The Crystal Prison is a work of genius5
The Crystal Prison has everything you could wish for in it- fantasy, mystery, suspense and excitememt. The plot is intricate and full of surprises, and the characters are believable and well thought out. The book is a sequel to The Dark Portal, and in it we see Audrey, Arthur and Twit travelling to the land of Fennywolde, Twit's home. However, in the hot summer that follows, tragedies occur, lives are lost and Audrey has to pay a terrible price for her actions. Read this book if you enjoyed The Dark Portal, as it is even better than the first one and there are a few surprises in store. The second book in the Deptford Mice trilogy is a work of genius.
