Customer Reviews

An excellent and enjoyable introduction to Dickens.5
This is easily the best introduction to Dickens I have read. It manages to be both erudite and enjoyable without being long-winded or difficult to approach. It's an easy but not patronising read. I would whole-heartedly recommend this to anyone who had a bad start with Dickens but who wishes to try again. This will make the task thoroughly absorbing and make you want to return to Dickens' work with enthusiasm; I had a dreadful time with Dickens at school, and thought myself put off for life, but this little book showed me what all the fuss is about. Recommended!

Excellent guide5
Most of us know something about Dickens but not much about how he came to write his books, his up-bringing and lifestyle. Even if you dont know all the books covered it is still a very enjoyable read.
