A disappointment, not as insightful or helpful as I hoped
I bought this as I was about to start my AS module where we would be studying Enduring Love. I found this guide incredibly basic and almost patronising. Those 'mind-maps' and terrible line drawings did nothing for me. There were simple comprehension questions at the end of each chapter or - do you think Joe was justified in behaving this way? sort of thing; I expected something a bit different. I managed very well without this, perhaps better, now I realise when studying literature it is best to write freely, from your own perceptions. I am getting full marks in essays without this terrible guide.

A great help.
I am currently studying enduring love and I have found this little book a great help. It really covers everything you need to know about the novel and even includes images and drawings that keep you anmused and help with the studying when it all gets a bit boring.

Its sections on lauangue, style and strcture are very good. I have a presentation to do on these topics tommorow and the book has been a big help.

Another thing that helps are the chapter summurys. These are useful when you are looking for a certain event that happend in the book and can't remeber where it was.

In my view, if you are an A-level english Student, then this book is a must for help and revision.

Teach yourself Enduring Love
This book was so helpful for my exam. I got it a week before taking the exam and achieved a B grade. It covers absolutely everything. I would recommend it to anyone studying A Level English.
