Advanced Level Media is a weighty, well-referenced book which has retained many of the features and strengths of the first edition. There is much in this book to ignite the reader's interest in media debates. (TES )

Brilliant
This book is great - I'm taking Media Studies A-Level and I'm finding it really useful. It has all the subjects that are covered on the syllabus, for example, British Film Industry and Hollywood Film Industry and British Broadcasting and many more. There is lots of background knowledge in the book, espcially useful if you intend to work in this industry. I wish I had bought the book as soon as I started Year two. The layout of the book always keeps you interested. BRILLIANT

This book is not worth buying - sorry.
This book a one meagre drop in an ocean of mediocre Media Studies textbooks for FE students. I wouldn't buy it, go for one of the more advanced books for undergraduates, you'll learn tons more. I have no association with the authors, so have no need to say it is the worst textbook I have ever read.

A good all round media text book!
I thought this book was laid out superbly, and the illustations, and photos were superb. a lot of thought has gone into this book, and it is just right for A level standard. It re-caps on GCSE, and goes right up to first year degree level. Not a bit like those old, fuddy duddy text books of the old days, this book is a modern, and enjoyable read, which gets students thinking for themselves. A book I come back to time and again!
