Product Description

This best-selling textbook provides a lively introduction to pathology for students of medicine, dentistry, nursing, and other health professions.

The book explores the basic mechanisms that a student must understand in order to make sense of clinical medicine, and in addition, covers all aspects of the science underlying disease processes, integrating the topics covered within a clinical setting.

Entirely updated in line with recent changes in the curriculum, the third edition retains the much-praised clinical scenarios, historical anecdotes, key points boxes and revision notes from the previous edition. Restructured into four major sections, the text highlights the key mechanisms and their interplay in producing symptoms, signs and disease

Editorial Reviews

Review
Lakhani and his colleagues have made general pathology interesting by using historical vignettes, line diagrams, key-points and revision tips. The book is a good way of introducing concepts of disease for those whose first language is not English and for a wider spectrum of students. (ACP News )

Customer Reviews

A very friendly and readable book for learning key pathology4
At first I was scared that this book wasn't in nearly enough depth. However, it does not set-out to be in the same field as other more detailed pathology texts. Instead it offers concise, readable accounts of the key concepts in pathology, with excellent learning aids (tables, diagrams, photos etc.) throughout. If you're looking for a textbook for all your pathology coursework, this isn't the book for you. However, if you want a good-value, concise start-point for the essential pathology concepts, I would highly recommend this book a place on your bookshelf!
