Average customer review:Product Description
This book provides high quality and challenging case histories aimed at candidates preparing for the MRCP examination. It is designed in particular for the written element of Part 2, adopting the extended grey case style of the new format examination in which cases can each feature some or all of the following elements: case histories, data interpretation, picture testing. The book will be useful both as a revision guide and an aid to further study. All questions are presented in the form of 'best of five', 'pick 'n' from many' and 'multiple matching'. In-depth explanations are provided to accompany all answers. New to this second edition is the introduction of full colour sections, ensuring that the illustrated cases mimic exactly those questions that the candidate will encounter in the exam setting.

A masterpiece Reviewer: Paul Lee (paul_lee@smtplink.mssm.edu) from New York, NY June 4, 1999
Wow! We love this book even though we are not preparing for the MRCP! The book is completely up-to-date, and the cases are incredibly educational and thought-provoking. If you think you know everything in Medicine, this book will prove you wrong. Incidentally, the questions are much more difficult than what you would see on the American Board of Internal Medicine. An example: Case 1.4 is a 30 year old lady with dilated cardiomyopathy diagnosed 2 years ago now undergoing transplantation because of rapid deterioration. Coronary was normal on cath. She had a PHx of premature menopause 2 years ago. The surgeon made the diagnosis at surgery. What was the diagnosis?----A Cardiology Fellow, New York City.
This is an outstanding book Be warned - some of the questions are very hard - but Goldsmith provides excellent explanations to the answers. Graded marks are given for possible answers, just like in the exam, which I really liked.
This is the hardest and best book around. Reviewer: A reader from Scotland March 11, 1999
This was the only membership book I kept after passing the exam. It is very well written and is a real gem.
panic!!!!!
yikes! i thought i was good at medicine until i read this. Now i realize i am pretty good at medicine just not well versed in mrcp questions.
This book features probably the most challenging questions i've found yet. I'd even say most regs woukd struggle with this stuff. But if you need to practice for the mrcp then this book is essential - the overall quality of the text and pictures is superb.
i gave it 4 stars cos it made me feel dumb.
The gold standard against which others will now be judged.
If you want to pass Membership on your first attempt this book is a must. It provides the most up-to-date questions and some of the hardest. The answers are graded exactly as in the exam and the explanations are excellent. I really enjoyed it.
