Customer Reviews
Great revision aid at a great price
This book has really boosted my confidence while revising for finals. It contains loads of practice questions in varying formats - EMQs, MCQs and Xray questions - and going through them has helped me feel so much more prepared for the dreaded day! It's also great value for money, with a large bank of questions at a very reasonable price. An excellent buy.
Too easy?
First of all let me say at bedside teaching I'm the one who doesn't know the answers. In lectures I'm the one asleep. Or at home. I'm not particularly intelligent and definitely don't work hard. I'm also only a 3rd year medic. So why am I getting 75-80% consistently in this book?
It is good value, loads of questions in varying formats over a wide range of topics. And each answer is explained so you're left in no doubt why you got it wrong, also making each mistake a good learning experience.
However, I doubt its even up to the level of the 3rd year exams I got it to prepare for, let alone finals, so approach with caution!
Reassuring
Used this last year to revise for my finals. Also had the associate book by same authors. Found it really useful to have a paper book for all those times when my placement couldn't give me internet so I couldn't use my online subscription to a revision website.
This book contains chapters on CVS, resp, neuro, rheum/ortho, gastro, hepatobiliary, derm, haem, endo, GU, pharmacology, general surgery, opth, onc, ENT and public health/stats.
Would recommend.
