The Trauma Care Manual was first published in 2000, and was the first evidence-based manual of best trauma practice. Now in its second edition, it continues to offer clear and practical guidelines for the management of victims of major trauma, reflecting current practice in the United Kingdom and Europe.
The second edition benefits from an increase in illustrative material, and is further enhanced by the addition of at least one case study for every topic in the book. 'Objectives' and 'Summary' boxes ensure a user-friendly approach, and are supplemented by key points, highlighted throughout the text. New to the second edition are 'Global Perspectives' boxes at the end of most of the chapters, which highlight techniques and practices from around the world.
Written by members of Trauma Care and invited experts, the Trauma Care Manual offers a nationally accepted set of standards for good practice which provide a benchmark for all those involved in the care of the trauma patient. It is a unique reference for all professionals involved in the care of victims of trauma and an invaluable addition to every Accident and Emergency Department.

Customer Reviews
Great for attachments in Trauma for Students.
This book is clear and precise. It covers all major issues that a medical student or doctor on an A & E attachment should know. It is far better than the ABC Major Trauma. The only way I would have given it 5 star is if there were more pictures. Trauma is the 3rd most common cause of death throughout the world and in the UK. Every medical student and doctor should understand how to deal with trauma. A long over due excellent non-US Trauma Manual.
