EXCELLENT
I used this book to teach the Middle East conflict at GCSE level and found it excellent. It covers all the major problems like British rule in Palestine, Partition, the war of 1948-49, the Suez War 1956, the Six-Day War 1967, the Yom-Kippur War 1973,the situation of Palestinian refugees, the role of the PLO, the UN and the superpowers, the Intifada and the process of peacemaking. It provides first-class source material and pictures, as well as engaging analysis questions and activities for the text and the material. The book is clearly structured and has a very appealing layout. The students loved it and they learned a lot about an issue that has been one of the dominating world conflicts for the past 100 years. I would like to recommend this book to all interested students and teachers.
