The Diary of Anne Frank, as originally published in 1947, was an edited version, by her father Otto, taken from Anne's original diary and her own later edited version which she had hoped to get published after the war. This volume places all three versions of the diary side by side to let you compare how each one differed, Anne's original entries, her own edited version, and the one which was eventually published. Included also, are the five previously unknown pages which turned up in 1998, the few passages which were excluded from the previous issue of this publication, and her short stories, Tales From The Secret Annex and Cady's Life, all of Anne's writings in one volume.
Among the many other chapters of the book, there is one dealing with the attacks which were made on the authenticity of the diary and another on the examination of Anne's handwriting and the paper used.
A weighty book but a fascinating one for anyone with more than a passing interest in Anne's life.
