Comprehensive geology book for beginners to serious students
This is a seriously good book on geology, which appeals to both beginners to the subject and serious geology students who want a general text. It's readable, comprehensive (777pp + full index) and is really well illustrated with thousands of 2-colour line drawings and photographs, and some colour plates. The fourth edition in 1993 is extensively revised and brought up to date with latest thinking on the subject in areas like plate tectonics, etc. Highly recommended for those who have read "Teach Yourself Geology" and want to know more. Also, good course reading for the Open University geology courses. Great value for money.

Principles of Physical Geology
An excellent combination of all the areas in geology. Covers in detail a wide range of area through igenous, sedimentary and metamorphic geology, to aspects of environmental geology.
