A Superb Translation of Two Astonishing Plays
I read Edward Bond's translations of Lulu and Spring Awakening a number of years ago and they are not easily forgotten. Two such major works of European theatre in a translation by a major European dramatist with an insightful introduction by Bond and some rather beautiful poems about Wedekind are a treat indeed. This book really should be in print. And what happened to volume two? Anyone who wants to understand the demons which drove the twentieth century need look no further than Bond's Wedekind. I am saddened that this great book is no longer available.
