Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover
In this sequel to his popular Aspects of European History 1494-1789 Stephen Lee charts the most commonly encountered topics of nineteenth and twentieth-century history, from the origins of the French Revolution, through the social and political reforms and upheavals of the last two centuries to the contemporary scene.
He presents a series of short, analytical chapters, based on an interpretative approach to history, providing a range of viewpoints on the subjects selected. For example, some chapters provide a survey of the major conflicting forces affecting Europe as a whole, while others stress the problems and policies of individual statesmen. This treatment is two-fold benefit to students, stimulating their ability to develop and clarify a theme in their own work, and, because of the careful structure of each chapter, aiding them in notetaking, the preparation of essays and revision. Like its predecessor, the book will be useful to both A level and undergraduate students, acting as an invigorating guide and sound source of background material to a complex yet ever-popular period of European history.

Aspects of European History: 1789-19804
I would recommend this book for any sixth form or undegraduate in European history. This book gives short essays on the most important issues in post 1789 European History eg, The reasons for the Unification of Italy.
This book is really helpful, buy it, even if its second hand.

Aspects of European History5
This book is the most useful Advanced Level/Undergraduate level book you could buy to complement more basic, factual text books. It gives you all the crucial anaylses and the essays are short and very readable.
