Review
'Erudite and written with a great deal of flair ... this is a bold attempt at analysing the distinctions between the power of individual politicians in the nineteenth century and the emergence of class based politics in the twentieth century.' - Tony Wilkinson, John Moores University

A fantastic book
This book was introduced to me by my history teacher when I was doing my A'levels, and I have to say it was a saviour! Stephen Jay Lee is great in not only giving the reader information about that period, but helps the reader debate the effectiveness of policies , governments and so on. He is constently asking questions, which he will then answer arguably, which definately helps when it comes to essay time or indeed exam time. So all of you who are doing this period for A'level history, or those interested in reading more about this period, then buy the book, it's great!
interesting
i thought the book was quite interesting but the cover put me off as it was a bit dull. I really couldn't put it down though, Marvolous and spiffing!!
