'Provides a clear and balanced overview of the period, and will be of inestimable value in guiding students through the main issues and debates.' - Martin Polley, King Alfred's College of Higher Education, Winchester

Customer Reviews

Very informative and some fresh opinions4
This book introduces us to many new insights into the political events from the last century.

Lee concentrates more on giving his own point of view and judgements rather than listing already established conclusions by other historians, for this reason (if you are using it for your A-Level course) it is far more suited to picking out quotes and evaluations than for systematic revison, in other words it is the book you turn to after you have learnt the basics of a subject and wish to give a historians unique point of view to gain top marks.

If you're studying History for A-Level this will certainly be a great benefit for your essays and in turn exams.
