Examines the issues surrounding the human use and abuse of estuarine and coastal environments. Exposing the environmental consequences of estuarine pollution, Peter French highlights the need for management strategies to promote a sustainable development ethic for coasts and estuaries.

Customer Reviews

Complex physical systems written in straight forward English5
This book is the most useful tool in the explanation of coastal and estuarine management principles, for both student and anyone working in this field. French describes the physical processes and managerial challenges, and also provides case studies, in a straight forward language so the reader does not get bogged down with tecnicalities or over elaborate explanations. I have spent the past five years studying/working in this field and this is now the most dog-eared book I own!
