Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover
This revised and updated edition of How To Do Your Dissertation In Geography and Related Disciplines continues to provide a detailed guide to the planning and procedures that students need to consider when preparing their dissertations in geography, environmental science and geology. Taking into account new sources, improved technology in production of the dissertation, and changes in teaching style, this text goes through each of the stages, from deciding what topic to work on, through designing the research and collecting the data, to handing in the final bound volume. With an extended consideration of different types of data (qualitative, quantitative and spatial) and a wider consideration of different approaches to problem solving the text suggests practical ways of tackling the tasks involved and locates common pitfalls associated with each.

Great book5
I bought this book having looked at other dissertation guides and found them to be unsatisfactory for my degree subject (geology). This book came recommended by a friend and has proven to be invaluable and easy to read. The book guides you through your dissertation, from considering your aims, conducting the research, and then writing-up, which is useful when trying to plan the timetable for each stage. If you're doing a physical geography or other investigative science subject then get this book!

Edit: I got a 1st in my dissertation and a 1st in my degree; this book was instrumental in helping me achieve this and I truly believe my dissertation wouldn't have been scored so highly without it.

Excellent guide to the matter intended5
I found this a very useful and comprehensive guide. Hey, what more can I say ? Helped immensely in getting me 1st class honours in Geography

Ok3
This is a good guide book, and ofcourse it is helpful but, unlike the previous reviews, I found it a bit too much and other dissertation guide books, not specifically for geography and related disciplines, have helped me much more as they were more direct to the point. If you buy this you won't be disappointed, but you Dont have to buy this in particular as you might find the help you need elsewhere. If you are considering buying this then you probably have a dissertation coming up so Goodluck :).
