‘It seems possible that this handy edition may render a real service to social good by enabling the English reader to learn for himself the content of a philosophical classic.’ – The Guardian
Few books have had as great an impact on intellectual history as Kant’s The Moral Law. In its short compass one of the greatest minds in the history of philosophy attempts to identify the fundamental principle – ‘morality’ – that governs human action. Supported by a clear introduction and detailed summary of the argument, this is not only an essential text for students but is also the perfect introduction for any reader who wishes to encounter at first hand the mind of one of the finest and most influential thinkers of all time. First published: 1948.

excellent
Pattons translation of Kants Groundwork for the Metaphysic of Morals is the best i know of and the notes included are very informative for students grappling with it. It is the version professors reccomend and with good reason.
Good commentary
This edition is very good; it includes a commentary on a section by section basis of Kant's Groundwork; while it is sometimes a little over-simplified, it provides a succinct summary of what Kant is trying to say, in easily read English. The translation itself is good and again, not very hard to read. This is an achievement considering the complexity of Kant's works, and he is often described as the deepest philosopher of the Enlightenment. I highly suggest this book if you want to truly study what Kant is saying; it is helpful to know the basics of his argument - you won't have such a hard time with this his concepts then.
