Editorial Reviews

Review

The most appealing aspect of Agnihotri's grammar is its clear conception of its own objectives and functions. For speakers of Hindi, it is an exposition of the systemacity and rule-governed nature of their language; for learners of Hindi, it is an instrument to further the learning of the language. In its jargon-free description of the patterns of Hindi grammar, the volume doubles up as an introduction to modern grammatical analysis for anyone trying their hand at grammar construction.

Customer Reviews

Clear presentation5
This is the best Hindi grammar book on the market. The presentation is much clearer than the alternatives. Agnihotri goes through the main rules, but also the exceptions, and makes special notes of how the language is used in practice, not just in theory. I also attended Hindi lessons from the author at the University of Delhi, and can recommend his teaching methods, which come through in this book.

Looks attractive, clear layout5
I have only browsed through the book, but i agree with the other reviewer that the presentation is clear and the explanations about the grammar are easier to grasp, compared to another hindi grammar book ive seen.
