Average customer review:Product Description
Written for teachers in training and classroom teachers, this book has been designed to support and extend teachers' and students' own knowledge and understanding of science and aims to be of particular use to non-specialists. Throughout the book, every effort has been made to interpret the ideas and concepts of science in accessible language, using everyday activities as illustrations. The book consists of three sections: life and living processes; materials and other properties; and physical processes. For each section key ideas are suggested and then expanded to include important related science concepts. The book provides comprehensive knowledge for science at Key Stage 1 and 2, as well as setting the scene for teaching and learning at Key Stage 3.

Essential for primary teachers!
If you are training to teach, or are already teaching in a primary school, you need this book. Your one stop place for everything you will need to be teaching the children, written in a clear and concise way.Even if you think you are confident in science, this is an invaluable resource you will use often.
invaluable resource
Have been teaching for 10 years, all ages, and still find this an easy to use and very helpful resource.
Essential for teacher understanding
This book is excellent for brushing up on your science knowledge and for learning new things. I used it when I did my PGCE and have referred to it during my first year.
It gives a detailed background to the science you will be teaching primary pupils and every section is split into KS1 and KS2 knowledge - useful so that you don't overcomplicate things for KS1 children.
