A crucial text
This text is a must-have for anyone studying any aspect of mental health. It contains an historical account of mental health law from the past asylum period to the mental health laws and procedures of today. The book also discusses the issues surrounding subjects such as; mentally disordered offenders, hospitals and procedures. Apart from the varied contents, the best thing it has to offer is the accurate analysis of the socio-legal topics and the depth and understanding with which it conducts the disscussion.
This book is cited in many other mental health law texts and journal articles and seems to be well respected in the field.
