Synopsis
Covering all aspects of this wide-ranging area of law, this text provides a stimulating exposition of legal principles combined with an authoritative discussion of policy and practice issues. The 7th edition has been extensively revised and updated to include all major legislative and case law developments, including the Family Law Act 1996, the Marriage Act 1994 and the Pensions Act 1995. It includes a chapter on international child abduction, and comprehensively covers the impact of the European Convention on Human Rights and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Study Guide
I have been using this book to complete ILEX assigments for the last 2 months. Although generally useful, its layout and size does not make it the most favourable study companion. For the price of this book there are better alternatives.
Very satisfying
I enjoy using this book. It is authoritative, and never fails to approach each area intelligently, humanely and comprehensively. There is a lot of insight here, and empathy too I think. A very sensible purchase indeed.
