History in progress 2
I recently bought this book for use with my Year 8s.They love it. Although it doesn't go into great depth on any one topic it gives a good overview of the time period 1603-1901 with plenty of assessment for learning activities. In conjuncion with the Teacher's Resource book and the Whiteboard CD (for those of you with interactive whiteboards) this is an interesting course with various options of study to choose from.I had heard that this series was too difficult for the students but have not found this at all (and I have a lot of students with English as a second language).Having said that, I have very occasionally needed to give some additional information before starting the lesson - just to clarify things. It fits in well with the new national curriculum and I would certainly recommend it.If you can also buy the whiteboard cd do so - it has some great interactive activities to support the book.
