Product Description

A study of Stalinist Russia for AS and A Level History students. It is designed to fulfil the AS and A Level specifications in place from September 2000. The AS section deals with narrative and explanation of the topic. There are extra notes, biography boxes and definitions in the margin, and summary boxes to help students assimilate the information. The A2 section reflects the different demands of the higher level examination by concentrating on analysis and historians' interpretations of the material covered in the AS section. There are practice questions and hints and tips on what makes a good answer.

Great Help5
I have found this book helpful for both my AS and A2 options on Stalinist Russia. Has questions and answers from past A-Level papers, which I found tremendously useful. In addition, the book concentrates on the A-Level syllabus rather than adding unnecessary waffle - great to use throughout the course!

Life-saver for anyone studying Stalin for the new AS and A24
This is a fantastic book which brings together everything you need to know about Stalinist Russia in an easy to absorb way. It's great for use as a revision tool and can be read quickly and easily for an overview of the period. Key terms in the margin of the book are particularly good in familiarising the reader with Russian words and simplifying technical terms etc. Summaries at the end of each chapter have worked well for me as a revision checklist. All in all- a great buy!

Meh!3
This is purley a narrative effect, its great to getting to grips if you are studying staling on the new AS, but having studied Stalin on the previous A2, its not great.
BUT for the new AS go for it as it will introduce and re-affirm your knowledge!
