An excellent GCSE geograpgy classbook
This is an excellent GCSE Geography classbook designed specifically for the revised AQA Syllabus A, which it covers extremely well - almost 100%! Excellent for schools with limited resources. Its well presented with diagrams and colourful photographs throughout the book along with OS maps where necessary. Also case studies are up-to date, well presented and highlighted - this is good for reminding pupils important information to revise for in exams.
The book is wonderfully split into the exact chapters as the AQA Specification A - thus ensuring the syllabus can be followed to the full. The book also contains a chapter on exam technique, good for giving pupils helpful tips and guidance for exam preparation.
Activities for pupils to complete in class are the main method of study in the book, with 'test'questions at the end of each unit - good for summarising work at the the end of each chapter. However, to fully utilise the book it needs to be used simultaneously with the teacher's resource book.
Reasonably useful
What is needed to be remembered is that this book is aimed toward the GCSE age range. This book covers exactly what it says and with accuracy, precision is not quite so consistant but as for a GCSE guide for this age range i would say that the book is quite substantial as far as information and coverage of the syllabus are concerned
excellent if doing seg A syllabus
This book covers all the SEG A course with examples. It covers obscure items such as hobby farming ,which are on the syllabus, but not found elsewhere. Can be a useful revision aid. I would like to see reference to WEB addresses and ICT so pupils can expand their horizons and knowledge.
