Truly is the best preparation for P15
I have used this book both in class as part of the teaching and also to revise from at home in the run-up to the exam. Each topic is clearly labelled and everything is structured in order. Key points/facts are in bold to be easily identified by the reader. One of the best features of the book is that each topic contains WORKED EXAMPLES that show us the method used to obtain an answer. This is much more beneficial than just providing an answer. At the end of each topic there are exercises to test whether the knowledge has sunk in.

The Review Exercises are especially helpful as they provide a huge selection of PAST EXAMINATION QUESTIONS to try. This, I think, is very good preparation for the real exam. All questions have answers at the back (although be wary there are a few mistakes) and also a P1 Examination Style Paper to try.

For complete high quality learning materials you should also purchase REVISE FOR P1 MATHEMATICS as this contains even more worked examples and questions to try.

Good luck with your studies and I hope the Heinemann suite of books increase your enjoyment for learning Mathematics. It certainly has mine!

Loads of printing mistakes2
I am astonished by the numerous printing mistakes in the books. Just in Review exercise One, there are roughly 20 mistakes out of 117 questions, either in the questions or in the answers at the back. There are also serious errors in the the formulae (eg the section on compound angle in Book2). Beware if you rely too much on it. I wonder how many people like me who find out all the mistakes. If you can, I can almost assure you an A grade.

Trying to get through these books would be a death-march1
I bought these books based on the fact that they are mentioned in the Edexcel specification.

It was only once I opened up P1 that I realised how truly dire they are. The pages of the texts have no structure, resembling the sort of thing your tutor might knock up on a word processor at home and hand out in photocopied form. There is no real explanation of the topics covered and no authorial voice providing insights and ways to think about them. Perhaps worst of all is the lack of any sense of excitement about the material covered: these are not books for people who love maths...
