Product Description

Focusing on statistics, this is part of a series which forms the official set of texts for the Associated Examining Board's mathematics syllabus from September 1994. The books also provide a basis for students working towards other AS and A-Level awards, and aim to develop students' awareness of the revelance of maths to other areas of study, to the world of work, to advancing technologies, and to society in general. The course is equally appropriate for those going on to higher education and those who will take their study of mathemetics no further. Each book provides explanations of the key ideas for each topic, exercises to develop and reinforce concepts and techniques, detailed worked examples, and activities and discussion points.

compact and useful5
This book provide students with necessary information on 'A' level further pure mathematics.Although having barely 260+ pages than any other further pure mathematics books,it is as useful than any other further pure mathematics books.More than enough questions were provided to provide training for students to prepare for their exams

A good book, but not the best in it's series.3
This book was a great assistence to me in my A'Level course.

In some places, it is well written and helpful, in others it's intruction was so obscure that it confounded both myself and my tutor. Since I done rather well in maths based A'Levels I would point the finger of blame firmly at this book!

My only other critisism lies is that there could of been a whole load some in chapter questions added in order to aid self-studying students get a better grasp of the concepts of A'Level Mechanics.

I would advise anyone considering puchasing this book to consider also purchasing a back up book (although no recommendations spring to mind) in order to deal with the less well written section of this text-book.

On the topic of other books in the series, I would be quick to recommend both the Pure and Further Pure installments, they were a great aid to myself and my fellow students in the completion of their respective courses.
