Excellent! 5
I am a year 12 IB student and, having just finished studying the Cold War with aid of this book, I cannot recommend it enough. The body of text is both engaging and succinct, providing a very clear picture of this complicated yet fascinating chapter in modern history. The book is further enriched by the opinions of various historians, including the highly quotable John Lewis Gaddis. It also gives some great suggestions on essay-writing, including a very useful diagram.

This is a book that should not be missed by any IB student studying the Cold War, especially those students who are perhaps - through their biological nature and by no fault of their own - ever so slightly slightly disorganised and therefore might not be advised to rely wholeheartedly on their notes. Buy this book!

Cold War Bible5
As an IB student, this book has been my bible for studying the Cold War. It covers every key point that could ever come up during a final exam and it does it through chronological, thematic and well organised chapters. I would highly recommended this book to any IB student studying the Cold War.

Jo Thomas changed my life!!!5
Jo Thomas's book on the cold war has given me insight into IB Higher Level History like no other book can. Without Jo Thomas' stunning piece of work; I could have failed the IB. The themes were simply too much to comprehend; and identifying the complexity used to be a nightmare. I was hopeless; until I was recommended this fantastic book.

Thanks to this book, I graduated at the top of my class, with a 44/45 on my IB Exam. When I look back on my life, I will have Jo Thomas to thank.

History in the IB can be difficult; but with Jo Thomas at your side you can never fail.

If you want to do well in history; this book is quintessential.
