Yes! Brilliant life saver!5
If you cannot plan science lessons, then this will save your life. This book provides medium and short-term lesson plans which are in line with the NC and DfES SChemes of Work for Science. Assessment opportunities are also provided and refers to a constructive method of teaching science in the classroom. Well worth every penny!

Buy it if you don't already have the earlier edition3
If you already have the old version of this then think carefully about whether you want to buy this version as very little has changed. Yes most of the worksheets are now differentiated to some degree, however, it tends to be the literacy based worksheets and there are very limited ideas for SEN. I did find the CD ROM useful as this meant I could display many of the worksheets on the IWB and discuss them. However, diagrams are still very basically drawn and graphing tool is pretty rubbish (better idea to incorporate this into an ICT lesson anyway)
Was quite disappointed by the lack of fresh thinking in it and cross curricular links. Also there seems to be very little excitement and WOW effect in the experiements

Excellent resource4
Got the Year 6 version to help me out as I'm not a scientist by any means. SATs results were OK so it must have been good!!!
Hence have got the Year 5 copy.
Very detailed plans, like the addition of 'enrichment' lessons.

Good activity sheets - wish they would add a simple code to tell you which level of ability each one is: they colour code for differentiation but this is useless if you photocopy in black & white. Although you can work out which is AA, A & BA, it would be nice to see 'at a glance'.

The disk is an excellent resource, children especially like the interactive activities. Don't lose the disk as it has the differentiated activity sheets on it - there's only one level of each in the book.

Definitely worth buying!
