Product Description

Poison has always been a wilful, contrary girl, prone to being argumentative and stubborn. So when she discovers that her younger sister has been snatched by the phaeiries, she decides to seek out the Phaerie Lord herself to get her back. But finding him is not easy, and he's a little preoccupied when she does. Poison has stepped into a murderous world of intrigue, where the Lords of the Realms, a sinister pantheon of demi-gods, conspire and plot to overthrow the Hierophant-the most powerful lord of all. For the Hierophant is writing again, and his pen will decide their fates...With only her wits and her friends to aid her, Poison must survive the lethal attentions of the Pharie Lord, rescue her sister and thwart a plot that could mean the end of her people. What awaits her is beyond anything she can imagine...

A fantastic story from a fantastic writer5
Poison is another brilliant book by Chris Wooding. If you liked The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray, then you'll love this. I couldn't put it down until the very end. It has an original storyline and is fast-paced and exciting. Even if you haven't read any of Wooding's other books, you'll probably like this if you liked books by Philip Pullman, William Nicholson or Garth Nix.

Don't listen to the other review!!!!5
I have read the haunting of alaizabel cray and i hated it. I bought this believing i would most probably hate it was well. But no! The story is well thought out and quiet freaky in parts (especially at the spider-lady's castle). Poison (the main character) does win your sympathy and The Phaerie lord Aelthar is a charcater rather reminiscent of Jareth (Labyrinth) which i definetly like. This book is well worth the £4.49 or wwhatever it costs and. It is a dark, gothic tale as you can imagine it being when having a leading lady named Poison. Five stars, definetley!!!

pretty basic - but well imagined3
pretty basic but vividly imagined novel from chris wooding. the plot within a plot is fun - twisty and about lives being written in books - a very circular narrative structure - which was fun.
however it was just a bit on the dull side - i read it after the braided path books - which were awesome - and this just pails in comparison. enjoyable but since outclassed by the author himself this book was an okay fun read
