Product Description

A highly illustrated textbook of orthopaedic examination and diagnosis. The book is made unique by the author's own clear line drawings of the steps in the orthopaedic examination, which provides the reader with the next best thing to a practical clinical demonstration. The text emphasises the commoner conditions, making it more useful in everyday practice, and enables the reader to avoid mis-diagnosing such conditions. Fully updated for this new edition, it includes new material on - Neck pain - Cervical spinal myelopathy - Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome - Vibration white finger - Cruciate ligament - Systems for assessing hip disability In addition the large single page drawings have been replaced by six frames per page as in the rest of the book, giving greater clarity, and a list of normal ranges of joint movement is included for quick reference.

Customer Reviews

An excellent introduction to orthopaedics and fractures.5
This volume would be an ideal pocket companion for casualty SHOs. It explains the necessity for hands on examination and full clinical history taking. Differential diagnoses are given as well as useful guidelines for requesting other investigations such as radiography and patholgy tests.

Not as good as I expected.3
Although the delivery, cost and packaging were excellent, I am a bit disappointed in the book itself - but that is nothing to do with the seller, only the content of the book. It is not as comprehensive as other Orthopaedic books I have purchased from Amazon but I will nonetheless keep it in my reference collection.
