Product Description

A succinct guide to pharmacology, arranged according to types of drug (e.g. analgesics) and types of disease (e.g. malignant disease). The main aim of the book is to explain how drugs work in relation to disease and to look at drugs from the nurse's perspective. Each chapter contains 'Nursing point' boxes which have been written by a nurse.

Customer Reviews

this is a book about pharmacology written in ENGLISH5
If you are a SIMPLE student who is trying to grasp the basic concepts of pharmacology... look no further. I took this book, I am not a nurse, but a 1st year student of osteopathy at oxford. This book gently brings a very difficult subject into focus. It can be used as a base line to launch into greater studies. The tables are always going to be a reassuring reference point to 'touch base' with. The layout is clear, it is not daunting even for a student! If you are preparing for exams, well its a must. This book is a comforting, reassuring crutch to refer back to to confirm what you thought you really knew! Its an introduction to pharmacoligical academia without being pretensious. A comfort tool to let you know that you are advancing up the learning ladder. I like its lay out , the way it leads you deeper into the subject encourages the student to feel confident about going deeper.Anyone who, like me, is a little fearful of this subject, can be assured that the mist of non-comprehension becomes a little clearer with this book in your sweaty palm!
