Product Description

This 3-volume textbook is a comprehensive, authoritative reference source aimed primarily at the trainee radiologist preparing for his/her professional board examinations and for the general radiologist looking for a general overview of modern radiological imaging. Organised along an organ and systems basis, the book covers all diagnostic and interventional imaging techniques and modalities in an integrated, correlative fashion. Whilst the text is broad in scope, the individual chapters are written by leading international specialists who provide authoritative guidance on how to applythe newest methods and technologies to specific diagnostic problems.

Review of G&A's Diagnostic Radiology5
Despite the high cost of this text & the availability of cheaper, more concise alternatives, G&A is a requisite for the trainee for many reasons. The most obvious of these is that it is comprehensive enough to provide all the information needed to pass the FRCR 2a & 2b exams (with perhaps the addition of Dahnert's differential diagnosis in radiology). Many of the examiners who set the MCQ questions have written a chapter in G&A, and hence use it as their reference. It is very expensive at £375 but still represents value for money as you will not need numerous other 'cheaper' texts which still cost £30-50 each on average. Although it spans 3 volumes it has an accurate index that allows you to find the appropriate information rapidly. All the chapters contain excellent images and are well referenced.

In summary, the financial outlay is significant, it is not a book that you can sit down and read, and there are even a few mistakes (but over 2500 pages of text). However, once bought it will be a suitable and long-lasting reference for the trainee and Consultant.
