A must buy.
This book is without a doubt the bible when you first start your training. It's got everything, and in alphabetical order, where as most other book are just a physiology book and biochem book etc. glued together, this has all the info as you need to know it. If you don't have this book BUY IT.
A Locker-Room Essential.
If, like me, you benefit from the occasional prompt when faced with unusual subjects, then this book will be an asset.
Most subjects that the junior anaesthetist will encounter whilst on call are described in a clear, well ordered fashion.
Another use is to direct practice short answer questions for the final FRCA, giving a framework upon which to flesh out your answer. This makes it money well spent.
This is, however, not a textbook of anaesthesia, and will not give enough information to direct treatment, but is invaluable as a handy aide memoire. If having read the short topic you are still none the wiser, then proceed at your peril.
