Product Description

Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics provides an accessible, complete and authoritative account of all major aspects of therapeutics and rational drug use. Written by a distinguished multi-author team of pharmacists and physicians, it is organized primarily by body systems and disorders, with the same logical order followed for each chapter.

For this major new edition, the presentation of the book has been enhanced by a new, larger page size and the addition of a second colour to make the text more readable and attractive. Colour photographs of clinical relevance have been added on eczema, psoriasis, pressure sores and leg ulcers. The text is referenced throughout, and each chapter includes an up-to-date bibliography.

Editorial Reviews

Review
., ."a unique and valuable support for all those involved or interested in drug therapy.
This is a textbook that no university or pharmacy department, particularly those with employess studying at any level, and no pharmacist trying to develop their knowledge base should be without." "Dr Chris Green and John Sexton", The Pharmaceutical Journal, July 2003
any pharmacy or medical student, this text is incredible. It's got a wealth of material, is easy to use and understand (without being simplistic), and does an excellent job of integrating the principles of clinical pharmacy and pharmacology. This is one textbook I would strongly recommend for pharmacy undergrads, medical students and anyone looking for a book to provide a solid foundation to their study of applied clinical pharmacology." "2nd Year Pharmacy Student", Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, April 2004

Customer Reviews

An essential text book for final year Pharmacy students!5
This book will be useful to all final year Pharmacy students, it has detailed chapters on all of the areas covered in the Clinical Modules. With topics ranging from chronic renal failure to ischaemic heart disease.

The chapters intoduce the topic, they discuss symptoms, causes, epidemiology and drug treatment available. At the end of each chapter there are some well written case studies, with questions and answers to illustrate the topic of the chapter. These put the learning into practice and are very good reading for exam revision.

The book is overall very readable and contains many illustrations, tables and graphs which aid your learning. It will also be a useful tool for the Pre-Reg year, especially for those entering Hospital Pharmacy.
