Product Description

Building on the strengths of the first edition, this new edition of Principles and Practice of Research in Midwifery clearly and concisely examines evidence based practice and research from a midwifery standpoint. This book provides an excellent introduction to the subject and looks at various methods and principles from practical and theoretical perspectives. Equal weight is given to the quantitative and qualitative approaches. New chapters on evidence based research and interviewing in qualitative research ensure that this edition is fully relevant to current research and practice.

Written by authors with clinical and research experience, this book is intended for midwives and student midwives participating in Diploma, Advanced Diploma and first level degree programmes. It aims to increase research awareness and develop the skills of critical appraisal of research evidence that are essential to evidence based practice. Used in conjunction with other texts, Principles and Practice of Research in Midwifery will give confidence to those undertaking research projects by helping to bridge the 'reality gap' between research and theory and its application to midwifery practice.

Not just for midwives ! A detailed yet easy to read overview5
Don't be fooled by the title - while both authors have a midwifery professional background this text is clear, comprehensive and should be accessable and of value to students and practitioners alike.

Throught the use of key topic boxes, information is provided in easy to access format.

Brilliant Especially for Mums Making Decisions5
I used this book to evaluate the care I received in my 2nd pregnancy after having discovered I had been misinformed of several facts about treatments in my first pregnancy and having several others facts not told to me at all.

This book was excellent and easy to read. It really allowed me to make an informed choice about my pregnancy and birth options resulting in an empowered yet safe delivery. I found it a really good source of information from which I could extract facts when discussing my options with my obstetrician. This allowed me to speak to him as an equal.

I would give it 10/5 if that was possible it was a God send for me.

i now like research5
everyone knows how to research, just stick it in google and theres your answer but for students this helps you to get proper research that is evidence based and the different approaches so thumbs up!!
