Product Description

This pocketbook is a practical guide to the wide variety of radiographic projections that are commonly encountered in a clinical environment. It provides clear and concise advice on how to approach radiographic positioning and technique, both efficiently and effectively. Particular emphasis is placed on the importance of achieving the best possible image with the minimum exposure. The routine examinations are dealt with by region in a systematic way and have the same easy-to-use format throughout. For each projection, there is a patient position photograph and an accompanying radiograph to ensure that the required result of the examination has been achieved. The accompanying CDrom enlarges and adapts the images to demonstrate the anatomy and areas of interest.

"I would definitely recommend this book to student radiographers and, with the bundled CD, I found it good value"

Handy size but doesnt include digital or CR radiography2
Pocketbook of Radiographic Positioning

I work in a fully digital x ray department and the techniques vary to that of conventional positioning (detectors are positioned a lot more than the actual patient).
Since most hospitals are "going digital" or indeed CR, this book hasn't really caught on to that fact.
I have many positioning books, all of which are different in their own way, yet this one, being the most recent edition doesn't really apply to current working conditions (even the skull section is out dated compared to current skull x ray protocols).

The contents don't vary much from the days of Kitty Clark...just easier to carry and less provocative photos!!

Now then, the photos..these are small and not the best quality. I think it would be good to show two images; the positioning photo and the resulting x ray.

The CD-ROM is not a bad concept, its not a bad quick reference guide either, it would also be good if it could be permanently installed on department PC's....cant see that happening!!

If you are after a handy size book to use with conventional radiographic methods, this one would be ok, however look at others as there are better out there.
