Customer Reviews

Rachel Zoe is my surprise new guru!5
I love the way lots of Rachel Zoe's clients dress, but I have to admit that I thought a book like this would give advice that would quickly date, or that I'd heard lots of times before. When I received the book I actually couldn't put it down, and found that it was much more useful than I imagined.

Rachel's advice is not just about dressing a certain way, its more about finding your own style that represents yourself, and injecting as much glamour as possible into our everyday lives. She makes you realise that you shouldn't feel guilty about wanting to look your best, and advises on everything from finding a 'red carpet' dress to having an inviting home. I like that there are sections on work and down-time dressing (as I think work and casual wear are more treacherous areas in reality than a big night out!) and I also like the VIP pages where some of her clients and fashion insiders give their hints and tips. It makes you realise that there is a lot of work that goes into looking great and that stars have to use hold-in pants too - they don't just wake up looking amazing! Maybe there is hope for us all!

I think this book will be something I refer to time and time again whenever I need some inspiration on my look. I'd definately recommend it if you like the signature Rachel Zoe "look".

Good Girly Read4
I loved this book (a great follower of HRH's Trinny & Susannah, I thought I would never be convinced by any other stylists), but I have to say I was very impressed. If you put aside Zoe's constant need to impress her own lifestyle upon you as Gospel, then here is a book full of massive energy, great pics, great ideas and pure glamour. It wont change the world - but it might get you wearing gold when you used to wear silver, or flats when you used to wear heels. She makes you think about ALL the elements of a good outfit as a basic part of getting dressed in the morning - or, way in advance of an event (a great tip which i had never found the self-respect to do prior to reading this book - always running to a store to grab the outfit which would 'have to do'). I had never set foot in a vintage store until I read this book and I am a complete convert! My advice is to definately buy the Body Shape Bible in conjunction with this book, for serious perfect dressing!

what you want from a fashion book!4
After going back again and again to flick through this in my local bookshop I decided to buy it as it is a brilliant fashion book ie. plenty of photos, just enough text (not too much so you feel like its a novel and not too little so its just a lot of glossy photos) and some really useful advice on what to wear in all kinds of situations.

Granted Zoe is more glam than i am - "overdress rather than underdress" but i really enjoyed her commentary and there was a good balance of celebrity examples without sounding sycophantic.

I felt this was much better than instyle's 'what every stylish woman should know' which has fashion/home/beauty all jumbled together in a very frustrating way and nicky hambleton jones's 'top to toe' which is practically all text interspersed with some glamorous photos of nicky herself. enjoy!
