Customer Reviews
The book grows inside you , beware of Rasputin
i'm a big fan of vampire books and i have to tell you there are better stories about them... in the beggining i was getting really bored with the book and thinking, how absurd, but the book gave a twist with the introduction of the caracter Rasputin, the famous mad monk. i think i will buy the next book in the series. it's a fairly good read. there are better but there are worst for sure.
Stands out from the crowd
Generally, many novels of vampires and the like are horribly superficial, but "I, Vampire" stands out.
The year is 1989, when David Parker, a 1-year-old vampire begins to write a journal of his life and experiences as a vampire and of the strange happenings around him. Just to give you a taste: David was getting a divorce and comtemplating suicide, when he meets and falls in love with Tatjana, a vampire with a Russian connection. He has a tutor - Mozart, who teaches the novice vampire a thing or two. Then there is the entire division between the Illuminata-group and a group surrounding Cesare Borgia. The latter group counting Jack the Ripper, who really hasn't changed much, since he frolicked in London. Enough said.
I liked reading this novel because it is action-driven, but at the same time has a thoughtful slowness to it, the way a vampire would write having eternity to do so.
Enjoy!
Louise.
