Customer Reviews
A handy pocket-sized book, with lots of useful information.
This maybe a small book in terms of its physical dimensions, but the 177 pages contain a wealth of useful Engineering knowledge. The book is split into 21 sections, covering most Engineering areas such as; Design, Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Materials, Quality Assurance, Project Engineering and Welding. The most useful points of the book are the formulas, data tables and short descriptions of the topic. This is very handy if you are asked for a formula or need to calculate something, a quick look in the book gives the appropriate information or jogs your brain enough to remember the answer. Along with the formulas there are standards for various components from screw threads to pressure containers, which is more useful for the working Engineer. Personally the most useful section I found was on Units, more often than not you are required to convert units into SI or Imperial and the book has a very comprehensive conversion section, along with what all the Greek symbols mean. Basically this book has all the formulas etc that you will forget but will always need to know.
So I recommend you to have a copy of this book and keep it close to you at all times, as it will probably save you embarrassment when your are asked a question by your lecturer or boss!
known as the book of all knowledge
the most helpful small book you can ever have for going through a mechanical engineering degree. It is also really handy whilst working, it contains a little bit about all relavent subjects in the Mechanical EngineerignCourse
Excelent little book!!
This is a great little book! it covers many basic engineering topics and in most cases it provides you with a good starting point to do some further investigating (it lists relavent British Standards etc).
