This is an immensely brilliant start for those who do not know anything about critical appraisal. I cannot recommend it enough. I loved the examples and illustrations. However this is not a text book to pass an exam. I read about 3 times before embarking on reading a more complex text in statistics and critical appraisal. It is very easy to read and I should praise the authors for their style in using very clear and to the point illustrations throughout. Despite over 200 pages, the illustrations, charts and tables would take about two thirds of that if not more. A fast reader will sail through it in few days.
