Comments on "Teaching English as a Foreign Language for Dummies"4
Having done a TEFL qualitication in Paris a few years ago, which I've not had the opportunity to use much since, I was most interested in this book and eager to read it.
I was happily making my way through it (and I had the impression that it was well written and knowledgeable) until the author, who says that she's lived and worked in Italy, confidently declares (on page 329 in a chapter about "The English class in Italy"), that the Italian word for magazine is "scomparto". This came as a big surprise to me as I know perfectly well from my own knowledge of the language (but I did also check with some Italian friends to get their opinion) that the correct word is "rivista".
Not having a lot of personal practical experience of TEFL teaching, it's clearly difficult for me to judge the quality of the advice / practical examples but, I have to say, if the author's knowledge of Italian is any reflection of her knowledge of TEFL, then it doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

How to teach English as a foreign language.5
This book offers help on how to plan lessons and gives hints and tips, like to simplify your language and use gestures/body language to communicated more easily, and to limit your talking time to a maximum of 30% of the lesson and play games to get the students working and using there newly acquired skills. The back of the book has a list of countries and the requirements you must need (e.g. visas and qualifications) to teach in each country. Very informative and highly recommended.

Very useful4
I was fortunate to be in a class taught by Michelle last year. She is a great trainer/teacher and I'd recommend the TEFL course to anyone who may be interested. This book is also recommended because it strides through the whole process of teaching TEFL in an organised and uncluttered way. The book is easy to read, and the teaching and organisational tips are brilliant.Ideas can be drawn from this book to help anyone at the learning stage of TEFL. The book also gives information on how much you can earn in different countries,in private teaching and in language schools. I don't think there are many teaching for dummies books out there, hoping that there may be a business English for dummies book to follow.
