Customer Reviews

Comprehensive, concise and simple to follow5
Linear Algebra doesn't have to be complicated. This is the lesson I learnt the hard way before my first year exams.

This book enabled me to pass better than expected (I went through almost all the material in a week!) because of its gentle approach to the subject. Many Maths books tend to jump straight in leaving some students bewildered. Key concepts are highlighted in colour and there are step instructions for solving typical questions. Diagrams are well annotated.

There are 10 chapters and there is a nice index of symbols in the chapters inside the front cover of the book. This makes it so much easier to read back over a concept, topic or to do questions related to the topic.

There are also challenging "discuss and discovery" questions alongside other questions at the end of most of the chapters, if you wish to pursue a favourite topic further. If you have interests in computing there are also some technology exercises, related to programming.

I recommend this book to any student who prefers background studying than just attending lectures, or for those who do much better studying on their own.

Definitely worth it if you are studying the subject and an excellent standby as Linear Algebra has many diverse applications in Science such as Quantum theory and of course Mathematics.
