This book provides an excellent introduction to the concepts and applications of GIS and related subjects. The book is particularly suitable for undergraduate students in their first and second years of a degree programme in GI systems or science...

Perhaps the best, certainly the most colourful5
'A landmark in the evolution of GIS' is probably going too far (see back cover), but still the most up-to-date, student-friendly and comprehensive of the (too) many GIS texts available. Page 252 is particularly fine ...
