Don't let the cover fool you - all the photos herein are in B&W. However,there are just so many, with such a diverse range, that you can't fail tobe impressed. The fact that these were all the work of one man over manyyears, makes it doubly impressive. Even if you only have a very passinginterest, it can be fascinating just to flick through the pages of thisbook.

A beautiful book full of black and white pictures of structures and forms of snow flakes excellent book for design inspiration.
Sometimes, when you look at books as a source of inspiration, colour is an added component that can inspire of distract. this book allows you to focus on the bare shapes and forms very inspiring.

I bought this along with Jacqueline Briggs Martin's 'Snowflake Bentley' to use with the children at school. The children loved poring over the pictures and, although the pictures may not have the clarity of more contemporary photographs they really appreciated the history, patience and perserverance that had gone in to creating these magical pictures.
