This is not just a coffee table book!5
This is not just a coffee table book! It is a serious work of history, delving into the history of the Mediterranean in such depth that it is hard to imagine how this book could not captue anyone's imagination. This, conbined with the elegant and rather beautiful illustrations provided means that it will not be left on your coffee table for very long!

Nearly perfect..4
This is a beautiful book and an extremely interesting read (although some slapdash editing at times can annoy). Forget that comment though- the illustrations and photographs are worth the money on their own. Add to that the colourful history of this region and it becomes almost perfect.
